Producing one kilogram of Hoai Trung specialty green tea requires 6.5 kilograms of fresh tea leaves and involves numerous meticulous steps—from harvesting, processing, to final packaging. Every stage is carried out with great care, dedication, and craftsmanship, reflecting the passion, effort, and love of the artisans behind each batch of tea.
The process begins with fresh, vibrant green tea buds harvested at dawn, when they are still covered in morning dew. The leaves are first withered at an appropriate temperature until they soften, then pan-fired to fix the green color. Afterward, the leaves are cooled and transferred to a rolling machine, where they are shaped.
Once tightly curled, the tea is dried at 100–110°C until it reaches about 60–70% dryness. It is then moved to a low-temperature roasting drum to form its signature hook-shaped curls, allowing the leaves to dry slowly and develop an elegant appearance.
When the tea reaches the right dryness level, the temperature is increased to lift out excess moisture and enhance its natural aroma. Artisans check the quality by chewing the dried leaf—the texture and fresh green flavor must match the profile of properly pan-fired tea. When brewed, the tea should leave a gradually sweetening aftertaste deep in the throat.
Finally, the finished tea is weighed, packed into zip bags or tins, and sealed according to required specifications before being delivered to consumers.

Today, we are delighted to introduce one of our finest specialties: Hoai Trung Specialty Green Tea, carefully developed and produced on a modern processing line by Hoai Trung Tea Co., Ltd., located in Chi Tien Commune, Thanh Ba District.
Why is it called a specialty?
Because it is one of the oldest and most iconic tea varieties in Vietnam—representing the identity of Vietnamese tea. It carries exceptional health benefits that not every tea possesses, including antioxidant and anti-aging effects. Its flavor transitions smoothly from gentle astringency to lingering sweetness, bringing comfort and joy to the drinker.
To become a representative tea brand of Thanh Ba, Hoai Trung Tea has not only relied on the farmers’ dedication but has also spent years researching and selecting tea varieties suited to the local soil. The company successfully introduced LDT1 and Kim Tuyen varieties to create this specialty green tea.
The production process is continuously refined to ensure clear, golden-green tea liquor, free of residue, and rich in natural fragrance. Bringing a cup close to your lips, you can sense the distinctive rustic aroma that no ordinary dried tea can offer. The true sophistication lies in the flavor: a mild, non-harsh astringency at first, followed by a gentle, lingering sweetness deep in the throat.
THE TEA-MAKING PROCESS
To produce 1 kilogram of specialty green tea, artisans must process 6.5 kilograms of fresh leaves through numerous meticulous steps—harvesting, withering, firing, rolling, drying, and packaging—all with the utmost dedication and craftsmanship.
Fresh tea buds, picked at dawn, are withered at the proper temperature until soft, then pan-fired to preserve their green color. After cooling, the leaves are rolled until tightly curled and then dried at 100–110°C.
When the tea reaches about 60–70% dryness, it is transferred to a low-temperature roasting drum to form the signature hook-shaped leaves. After shaping, the temperature is increased to remove remaining moisture and bring out the aroma.
Quality is tested by chewing the dried leaf—its taste must resemble freshly fired green tea, and when brewed, it must leave a gradually sweetening aftertaste deep in the throat.
The finished tea is then weighed, packed into zip bags and premium boxes, and delivered to the market.
